AURORA SKY DRIVE – To the wilderness by car/coach
The Northern Lights, also known as Aurora Borealis, are possible to be observed in the Polar zone of the world. The location of Rovaniemi on the Arctic Circle gives us the best possibilities to try and see them. A local guide will drive you out of the city reaching the perfect spots offering us the best open sky vision to enjoy the Lappish picnic, hopefully under the Auroras.
Everyone will try to fun walk with snow shoes and we will share some nice moment around the fire, with stories about Lapland.

Includes: Winter clothing, car transfers, Lappish picnic, hot drinks, guiding in English. Notice: Reservations subject to weather conditions on the spot.

Day 7     December 28 Wed.

09:30  Coach transfer: Hotel → Helsinki Pier
10:30  Ferry crossing: Helsinki → Tallinn
12:30  Local guide for 2 hours Starting at pier and ending in city center

During the tour you will admire the Alexandre Nevski church and Dome Church, and the 13-14 century Danish-German castle, today the seat of the Estonian Parliament. There will be time for photo stops, and to take in the views of the medieval town-wall and tens of towers. Then You walk down to the Lower part of the city. The highlights of this part of the town is the Town Hall Square with the 15th century Town Hall, the 15th century pharmacy, and the buildings of Great Guild and Brotherhood of Blackheads.

12:30  Coach at disposal for 1 hour starting at pier and ending in city center (Please note the transfer back to the ferry is not included and should be made individually.)

Please note that Christmas time is the peak season for Rovaniemi and it is advisable to pre-book all the optional tours before starting the tour. Kindly note that we need minimum 10 participants in order to run these optional tours.


Day 1  : December 22 - HELSINKI

Individual transfers from the airport. In the evening you will meet your tour escort and fellow travelers. The meeting will is in the hotel lobby between 6pm and 8pm. Overnight at Glo Art Hotel in Helsinki.

Day 2  : December 23 – HELSINKI - ROVANIEMI

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning city tour of Helsinki by coach with a local guide. You will see the lively harbor market, main Cathedral, Russian Orthodox Uspenski Cathedral, neo-classical Senate square, Sibelius monument, and the famous Temppeliaukio church in the Rock. In the afternoon free time to enjoy shopping, visit to the Christmas market or just walk in city center filled with Christmas spirit and decorations. In the evening overnight train to Rovaniemi in cabins with private facilities. Overnight on the train.

Day 3  : December 24 – ROVANIEMI

Arrive in Rovaniemi and transfer to Scandic Hotel for breakfast. You will get special thermal outfits to keep you warm during your stay in the cold Arctic. The warm clothes are yours to keep while you stay in Rovaniemi. Today we will have fun in Santa Claus Village located in the Arctic Circle. You will meet Santa himself and visit his post office, a great opportunity to send some post-cards stamped by hand with special postmark of the Santa Claus Post Office. Afterwards more shopping for unique Finnish handicrafts and top Finnish design products offered in many souvenir shops in town.

We will enjoy a traditional Christmas Eve Dinner in the evening. Parents can leave their Christmas gifts at the reception.  Santa Claus will pick them up and give them to the children when he makes a visit to the hotel this Christmas Eve.  Overnight at Scandic Rovaniemi Hotel.

Day 4  : December 25 - ROVANIEMI

After hearty breakfast at the hotel we invite you to a snowmobile safari with ice-fishing.  There will be two people per snowmobile and stops will be made to switch drivers. After a ride on the frozen river the guide will choose a nice spot for drilling a hole and fishing on the ice. Hot drinks and biscuits will be served to keep us warm! A great time to enjoy the silence of the nature and breathe the fresh Lapland air. We will return to the city by snowmobile.Traditional Finnish Christmas dinner and overnight at Scandic Rovaniemi Hotel.

Day 5  : December 26 - ROVANIEMI

After breakfast at the hotel am amazing encounter with huskies and reindeer. Visit the husky farm and learn about the life of huskies, their breeding, feeding and training, while you enjoy a hot drink. Afterwards a sleigh–ride pulled by a husky team. Our next visit is to the nearby Reindeer farm where we learn about the life of reindeers and their herders and enjoy a sleigh ride pulled by a reindeer. Optional Northern Lights Chase safari this evening. Overnight at Scandic Rovaniemi hotel.

Day 6  : December 27 – ROVANIEMI

Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Our next adventure is to Ranua Wildlife Park where we meet Arctic animals in their authentic environment. During your walk in the park, you might see polar bears, lynxes and moose. Upon return to Rovaniemi we will board the overnight train back to Helsinki. Dinner onboard and overnight in cabins with private facilities.

Day 7  : December 28 – HELSINKI

Morning arrival in Helsinki and transfer to the hotel for breakfast. Free day in Helsinki.

Day 8  : December 29 – HELSINKI TO STOCKHOLM

Free time until late afternoon when we embark on Silja Lines overnight cruise to Stockholm. Plenty of things to do on the ship, entertainment, shopping, bars, spa, etc. Buffet dinner will be served onboard. Overnight in outside cabins.

Day 9  : December 30 – STOCKHOLM

Buffet breakfast onboard. Enjoy the scenery as you sail into Stockholm harbor. We will start city tour of Stockholm from the pier. The viewpoint at Fjällgatan gives you a beautiful panorama of Stockholm, which is spread out on 14 islands. We will visit the old city of Gamla with its narrow cobbled-stoned lanes, charming small squares and medieval buildings, the Cathedral and the Royal Palace. The tour ends at our centrally located hotel. Afternoon free to continue exploring Stockholm. Overnight at Clarion Amaranten hotel.

Day 10  : December 31– STOCKHOLM

Breakfast buffet at the hotel. Free time to visit museums, go shopping or enjoy festive Stockholm and get ready for New Year’s Eve celebration. A visit and a drink is included in the famous Stockholm Ice Bar. This is the world’s first permanent ice bar, made of ice from the Swedish Lapland where everything, including the glasses, is made of ice. Overnight at Clarion Amaranten hotel.

Day 11  : January 01 - Stockholm

Buffet breakfast at the hotel. End of services.


Supplement for 1 person per snowmobile is $65
Due to the high demand for Christmas in Rovaniemi, a deposit of 50% of the full amount of the tour is required in order to make the reservation. Balance payment of the tour to be paid at the latest by October 20, 2016
For security reasons, children under 4 years or shorter than 1,40m are not allowed to ride the snowmobiles, but can be seated in a sleigh behind the snowmobile.
Maximum 1 child  sharing the room with the parents.
