Spitsbergen-Realm of the Polar Bear

Longyearbyen, Isfjorden, whales, Spitsbergen, Hinlopen Strait, polar bears, incredible scenery, Arctic swimming, Ny-Ålesund, birdlife, and glaciers (all dependent on Mother Nature's cooperation).

 From close-up encounters with huge icebergs and glaciers, to the variety of unique wildlife, this is a voyage of nonstop highlights. Roaming polar bears, lounging seals, grazing reindeer and colonies of birds all co-exist in this harsh land we dare only to explore a couple months of the year. 

Day 1 Arrive Longyearbyen (D)

Embark the M/S Expedition in the afternoon and depart Longyearbyen in the evening.

Day 2-7 Svalbard Archipelago/Spitsbergen (6B,6L,6D)

Visit ice-covered fjords with breathtaking mountain scenery and glaciers. Spend time steaming through the ice in search of polar bears hunting seals. At one or more of the stops, you may have the opportunity to see one of Svalbard’s species of reindeer. The final itinerary is dependent on ice and weather conditions, which have to be assessed during the voyage.

Day 8 Depart Longyearbyen (B)

Arrive in the morning to disembark.
