Day 1: Helsinki - St. Petersburg |

Enjoy early breakfast on the Finnish Sibelius train from Helsinki to St. Petersburg. Arriving in the Venice of the North, tour the Bronze Horseman, the Admiralty, Nevski Prospekt and the Palace Square. Peter the Great founded the city when he built the first fortress on an islet in 1703, and the Peter-and-Paul Fortress is the chief monument to his reign. Day 2: St. Petersburg |

Start the day with an excursion to the Hermitage, established in 1764 when Catherine II bought paintings by famous Dutch masters. The Hermitage collection of over 2.4 million pieces of art includes Leonardos, Raphaels and Titans. After lunch at a local restaurant, visit the Cathedral of St. Isaac, third largest in the world. Dinner and overnight Hotel Moskva. |

Day 3: St. Petersburg |

In 1708, Peter I gave his wife Catherine Aleksejevna an estate in the outskirts of St. Petersburg-Zarskoje Selo (later Pushkin). This became the summer residence of the Russian Czars for two centuries. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant and then transfer to the city center for a free afternoon. Dinner and overnight Hotel Moskva. |

Day 4: St. Petersburg - Helsinki |

Spend the last morning at your leisure. Lunch at the hotel, followed by transfer to the railway station for an afternoon departure with a late evening arrival in Helsinki. |
