Travel to Greenland's capital Nuuk - the smallest capital of the world

Nuuk is the smallest world capital but still the largest and oldest city in Greenland. Its name means Cape in Greenlandic. The city is located at the end of a fjord leading into the icy waters of the Sea of Labrador. Founded in 1728 by the Hans Egede, the missionary from Europe, it has been inhabited by people for over 3000 years.

The visitors to Nuuk will find high-quality arts and craft works, a contemporary shopping center, the Greenland National Museum with a collection of artifacts and exhibits of Greenland's history, archaeology, and the famous Qilakitsoq mummies.

Of great interest the architectural marvel of Katuaq, the new cultural center inspired by the northern lights, icebergs and the harmony of light on ice and snow.
