We will spend today discovering the delights of Oslo, Norway’s capital. Our first stop is Frogner Park, famous for its collection of Gustav Vigeland’s rather unique sculptures. Other highlights include the medieval fortress of Akershus and the modern Opera House. Next we visit Bygdøy Island, a cultural hub, home to three impressive museums. In the afternoon there will be some free time to wander around the lovely shopping district Karl Johan. We transfer to Vippetangen Pier for an overnight cruise to Copenhagen.
Enjoy a buffet breakfast as we sail into Copenhagen. On arrival we will go on a guided sightseeing tour around the Danish capital’s major sights. Discover the famous Little Mermaid statue, the grand Amalienborg Palace and stroll around the pretty canals of Nyhavn. Spend the afternoon exploring this fairytale city on your own. Perhaps take the harbour bus through the lively port to the Urban area of Refshaleøen to sample the delicacies on offer at the Reffen Street Food Market. Alternatively stroll along the Strøget shopping street and browse its fashionable shops. In the evening we dine in the iconic amusement park of Tivoli. In the evening we enter the old amusement park of Tivoli with its romantic settings and stunning illumination. Fine dining awaits at the classy NIMB Terrasse Restaurant, inside the garden. Overnight in Copenhagen.
Today we explore the new nordic cuisine of the city. We meet our food guide at one of Copenhagen’s most popular food markets, Torvehallerne and go for a half day walking food tour and get a taste of the very upcoming and popular gastronomic side of the city. Afternoon free to explore the hidden gems of Copenhagen by maybe talking a walk to Freetown Christiania or visiting the Black Diamond Library. Overnight in Copenhagen.
In the morning we cross the impressive Øresundsbridge into Malmö Sweden. Our first port of call is the Turning Torso, the tallest building in Scandinavia and second tallest in Europe. Next we explore the cosy town centre and imposing cathedral. Moving onwards to a more simplistic but equally as beautiful cathedral in the university city of Lund. Our drive along the idyllic Swedish coast continues through small villages via Karlskrona where we stop for lunch. After lunch we venture to the Island of Öland renowned for its natural beauty and picturesque setting. Lovely beaches, cobblestoned small villages and idyllic Scandinavian houses give an incredible picture of the natural Swedish landscape, which the regular tourists rarely see. Leaving the island we head to Kalmar for a panoramic tour. In the evening we unwind with a 3-course dinner overlooking the beautiful Kalmar Castle. Dinner and overnight in Kalmar.
This morning we traverse along Sweden’s east coast passing the charming towns Oskarshamn, Norrköping and Trosa. We stop in the one-thousand-year-old Sörmlands archipelago. Explore its labrynth of canals and enjoy a light lunch in a canal-side restaurant. In the afternoon we continue to Stockholm where we meet a local guide at the impressive City Hall. We visit the famous Vasa Museum and meander down the charming narrow alleys of Gamla Stan. We finish at the breathtaking Fjällgatan viewpoint. Dinner and overnight in Stockholm.
A morning visit to Drottningholm Castle, the summer residence of the royal family awaits. After a 1 hour ferry ride from Strömkaien Pier our local guide will show us around the magnificent castle and its colourful surroundings. Afterwards we continue into the city centre for a drink at the Stockholm Ice Bar. As the name suggests it is built entirely out of ice – from the tables, to the glasses and the sculpture that adorn the room! In the afternoon there will be free time to explore the city or relax before we convene at 8:30pm for a farewell dinner at Fem Små Hus. Dinner and overnight in Stockholm.
Transfer to the airport independently or continue on to your next destination.
