We’d never done a tour before, but this sounded like a good way to see St. Petersburg, which everyone RAVES about. The “cruise” part of the tour was forgettable (food was quite mediocre, there were frequent announcements on the loud speaker, first in Russian then – supposedly – in English but after “Ladies and Gentlemen” it was mostly unintelligible. Getting off the ship in both Helsinki and St. Petersburg took a very long time and seemed disorganized, but perhaps that isn’t a problem the cruise line can address. BUT then we started the tour in St. Petersburg! We were a congenial group of six Americans, with a very nice Mercedes van and driver who was with us for the entire three days.

There were enough time given to visit each sights, tour guide was knowledgeable and explains well and she managed the timing very well. The hotel we stayed in was Solo Sokos Hotel Vasilievsky, room was spacious, breakfast and service was good. The only set back was that on the first day the tour guide who received us was different from the one that led us on day 2 and 3. – Catherine Lee -

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip, Maria was a great guide. She was so knowledgeable about the history, buildings and art she showed us and guided us round some very long queues at the Hermitage etc! It was also very interesting to chat with someone who has experienced the big changes in Russia first hand and hear about her family. We enjoyed the ferry trips though not the long queues to check in to the ship, the cabin was comfortable and there was plenty of choice at the food buffet. The hotel was really excellent, fabulous room, good breakfast and the pool complex is very impressive. We also appreciated the very central location of the hotel. – Fiona Yates -

Hi there, This is very overdue as I came back from my trip 24/12/2017. I just wanted to say thankyou. I was a little nervous being Australian and booking online with a company from a different country. Everything went smoothly. The accomodation in St Petersburg was very nice. The guide Maria Ganina was a true professional and very passionate about the city she grew up in, St Petersburg. You could ask her anything she was easy to talk to and very knowledgable. I didn't know what questions to ask, before booking. But a bit more info about the ferry may have been a good idea. For example all meals were buffets in the same resturant macalzone latino or that any cabin including and above commodore get early disembarkation.

This summer we had a fantastic time on board MV Ocean Atlantic. Thank you Nordic Saga for this fantastic experience!  Our 6-days cruise Greenland Disko Bay was like one day. All stops were well chosen, fantastic views, excellent guides. Thank you very much! Sandra Rogers
