Travel Insurance
Travel Insurance
We advise you to buy cancellation insurance during the period from booking your tour until the actual departure . This policy covers you if you become acutely ill, or if acute illness, an accident or sudden death in your family occurs before your departure. This insurance policy must be purchased at the time of booking.
If you are unintentionally or unpredictably late for booked public transport or transport arranged by your tour operator and must therefore subsequently catch up with you itinerary, we advise you to buy an insurance covering late arrival and changed departure time. This insurance policy is valid at the beginning and the end of your tour and must also be purchased at the same as your booking.
Finally, a travel insurance policy will protect you and your luggage during the trip. Often, travelers already have this policy through their credit card or their own insurance company.
Important Travel Advisory: Greenland Weather, Delays & Trip Adjustments
Due to Greenland’s unpredictable Arctic weather, flight delays and cancellations are common, even during the summer months. Sudden fog, high winds, and rapidly changing conditions often impact flight schedules with little notice.
If this happens, rearranging flights, hotels, and activities can be complex and time-consuming. While we’re here to assist, please be advised that our time spent making adjustments to your itinerary will be billed at $100/hour during our normal business hours, and $150/hr outside our business hours.
It’s also important to understand that most hotels, tour operators, and local vendors in Greenland do not offer refunds if a service is canceled due to weather. This includes excursions, lodging, and transfers.
Because of these factors, we strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that covers:
Weather-related delays or cancellations Missed services or connections Additional accommodation or transportation costs Non-refundable services Assistance with rebooking and trip changes
This coverage will protect your investment and provide peace of mind if plans need to change unexpectedly.
We’re committed to helping you make the most of your Greenland experience — but flexibility and preparation are essential when traveling to this unique part of the world.
Please let us know if you have any questions about insurance or what to expect.
