Oslo Panorama Tour (3 hrs)
An excellent choice to discover Oslo's highlights from a modern coach and with a local guide, even if you're short on time! Learn about the city’s history and culture, admire the main attractions in the city center and spectacular views from Holmenkollen Hill and experience a fascinating insight into the art of the most prolific Norwegian sculptor, Gustav Vigeland, as you walk through the unique Sculpture Park comprising more than 200 sculptures in bronze and granite. The tour includes: a panoramic city tour by modern coach,  Holmenkollen Hill and Ski Jump (the Ski Jump Tower is not included), approx. 45 min. walk through Vigeland Sculpture Park, certified English speaking Oslo guide.

Visit to the Magic Ice Bar in Bergen
Magic Ice is a wondrous winter wonderland constructed from several tons of ice. The ice bar is the work of world-renowned ice carvers, they re-craft the bar several times every year. Magic Ice is the gateway to an adventure far removed from everyday life with a feeling of being beamed over to the Arctic Circle. You will get a warm poncho and gloves before you step inside the ice bar and a welcome drink served in the ice glass. All ages are welcome to enjoy the ice gallery and it´s art created from snow and ice with decorative LED-lights and music.

Food and Culture Walk in Bergen (3 hrs)
Discover Bergen with all your senses. Food and Culture walk is a great way to explore Bergen and learn about the history of both the city and the food. You will be accompanied by a local guide in a small group. Bergen is a city full of history in both culture and food and this tour is focusing on the local produce, food traditions as well as Bergen's interesting culture and people. There will be stops along the tour, where you will get to taste a selection of what the city and its historic food has to offer. You will visit UNESCO World Heritage Listed – Bryggen, in addition to a local restaurant which was previously a public bath. The last stop is the oldest working basement – in Norway- still in use. Here you will get served a small beer and a very special story. The food will be sufficient as a lunch.

Entrance to the Viking Village
Explore the Viking village Njardarheimr in Gudvangen! You will experience the authentic life the Vikings used to live when they were not busy at sea through this open-air museum at the foot of the fjords. In the Viking village of Njardarheimr, you will experience an authentic village that shows how the Vikings lived 1,000 years ago, when Gudvangen got its name. These are not actors in costumes, but "real" Vikings of all ages, who adopt the Viking Age as a lifestyle. They know their history and have unique knowledge about the Viking life, which they would love to share with you! The food in the camp is prepared from traditional recipes with ingredients that were available in the Viking Age. Items for sale are handmade and genuine.

Snowshoe Hike & Stegastein Viewpoint (08:15 – 10:45)
The trip begins by minibus along the Aurlandfjord and up to the spectacular viewpoint Stegastein, 650 meters above main sea level. On arrival you will be introduced to snowshoes, how to hike in them and the history behind them. While hiking, your local guide will explain about life on the mountain farms, the dramatic nature, winter by the fjords and the culture in the area. The 1,5 hour hike gives you opportunities to see the fjord far beneath you, the tiny village of Undredal, Flåm and the white mountain tops surrounding the entire fjord. At the turning point you will be served hot beverages and the time to take in the quiet and unique beauty of the area. The photo opportuneties are many. Before the bus takes you back to Flåm there will be a stop at the viewpoint Stegastein.

 

 

Itinerary:

Experience the best of what Norway has to offer: fjords, waterfalls, coastal and city culture, the unique Viking History, a glacier, mountains, and idyllic islands are among what you will find. You will travel the region using railway, panoramic train route and ferries. Therefore, recommend you travel light and find your inner adventurer. You will have plenty of time to explore the region at your own pace.

Day 1  : Arrival in Bergen

Welcome to the Kingdom of Norway!!! – A country with the most beautiful fjords on Earth. Arrival to Oslo. Forests and the beautiful Oslofjord surround this vibrant city.

Transfer on your own to the hotel. (Transfer by a shuttle bus can be pre-booked in advance)

Overnight in Magic Hotel Kløverhuset or similar

Day 2  : Bergen Sightseeing (31 mi)

Breakfast in the hotel. Enjoy the sightseeing of Bergen on your own. Pass through the most emblematic places such as the Hanseatic Bryggen, with the church of Mary, the Hakon fortress and the famous fish market. You can visit the Fløibanen Funicular, which will take you on the top of the Mountain Fløyen, for overall view of the city. In addition, we recommend you check out Rosenkrantz Tower, St Mary Church, Norwegian Fisheries Museum, Horda Museum and Fantoft Stave Church.

You can also book a guided food and culture walk as optional activity.

Day 3  : Bergen - Flam

Breakfast in the hotel. Morning walk to the Bergen railway station, where you will embark a train towards Voss – a very popular sports hub in the country. In Voss, you will change to a shuttle bus that will take you to Gudvangen through snowy mountains and contrasted scenery.

Upon arrival to Gudvangen, you will have some free time for lunch and if you wish, you can also visit the Viking Village – an open-air museum, where you can travel back in time to the Viking age.

Continue your trip by shuttle bus to Flåm.

Day 4  : Rib Boat Safari on Sognefjord & Aegir Viking Dinner

Breakfast in the hotel. In the morning, you can choose to spend your time at leisure or participate on a snowshoe hike experience with a stop at the breathtaking Stegastein Viewpoint.

Later today, you will get closer to nature in Aurlandsfjorden and parts of the UNESCO listed Nærøyfjorden by an unforgettable RIB boat safari. The tour starts at 11:45 (meeting point is at Fjord Safari reception at 11:15) The length of this trip is 2,5 hours. The advantage of exploring the fjords through a RIB boat is that you will get the chance to get close to small villages and waterfalls along the way. You will hear tales and historical facts from the professional guide that accompanies you. You will receive necessary safety gear for a safe and comfortable experience on the fjords. The gear includes floatation suit, life vest, hat, gloves, and goggles.

In the evening, you will be served Ægir’s Viking Dinner, a 5-course beer and food plank that consists of salmon tartar, slow cooked deer, creamy tomato and coconut soup, braised shoulder of local lamb and dark chocolate cake. The plank is served with 5 unique Ægir-beers that compliments the differents dishes. (non-alcoholic options available on request) The dinner takes place in Ægir Brewpub.

Overnight in Fretheim Hotel or similar (B, D)

Day 5  : Flam - Oslo ( mi)

Breakfast in the hotel. Morning departure to Myrdal by train. Myrdal station is a mountain railway station and junction, located about 13 km from the village Flåm. Board the famous Flåmsbana - one of the steepest trainlines in the world. The train journey runs through fantastic nature, past the Rallar road, steep mountains, breath-taking waterfalls and no less than 20 tunnels. It offers so many viewpoints that many feel like travelling multiple times between the mountain and the fjord.

In Myrdal, change to Bergen Railway that will take you to the last stop of this journey - to Norwegian capital, Oslo. Find your way to the hotel.

Day 6  : Oslo

Breakfast in the hotel. Discover the city of Oslo on your own OR you can choose to join to our optional Panorama tour for 3 hours by coach and with a certified local guide. The tour of the city includes the Holmenkollen Ski Jump and a guided tour through Vigeland Sculpture Park.

If you wish to explore the city on your own, we recommend you visiting Akershus Castle, Oslo City Hall, Fram Museum, Kon-Tiki Museum, Munch Museum, National History Museum, Nobel Peace Center and much more.

Day 7  : Departure from Oslo (238 mi)

Breakfast in the hotel. Enjoy some last-minute shopping for the Viking souvenirs. Transfer to the airport on your own. Transfers can be also booked in advance (B)
