Itinerary:

Day 1  : Copenhagen - Faroe Islands

The Faroe Islands, our little green gem of a country, is only a short 2-hour flight from Copenhagen. Upon arrival with the national airline, you will be greeted by your guide for the stay. Transfer time to the capital of Tórshavn is less than an hour, and will take you along the scenic mountain road that is a great introduction to what the country has to offer.

After check-in at Hotel Djurhuus (2 nights) you are invited to join the scheduled sightseeing tour of the old part of Tórshavn, followed by a short bus journey to the cultural center of Kirkjubøur. The village of Kirkjubøur is characterized by their thatched grass roofs and rich history, and famous for the ruins of the St. Magnus Cathedral (D).

Day 2  : Vestmanna Cliffs

Today you will go to the village of Vestmanna for a boat cruise to the beautiful Sea Cliffs – a top destination within the country. The boat cruise will give you a unique experience of the magnitude of nature when sailing along the towering sea cliffs, home to a larger number of special inhabitants – the seabirds of course. The waves breaking in the caves will keep you mesmerized, and if the weather allows it, you will get at chance to sail through one of them. The trip takes about 2 hours, and afterwards a lunch buffet will be served in the restaurant at Vestmanna Visitor Center. The program will finish mid-afternoon (B, L, D)

Day 3  : Romantic Streymoy and Eysturoy

Time to pack your bag, and get ready for moving north to Hotel Gjáargarður (2 nigths). Your guide and bus will pick you up and take the group on a day´s adventure on the islands of Streymoy and Eysturoy.

On our route to Gjógv, you will get the stories and legends of places and villages we pass, and there will be time for photo stops along the way. The bus will make a stop at the whaling station við Áir and the fairytale village Saksun for a visit at Dúvugarður Museum. After passing the Atlantic Bridge between Streymoy and Eysturoy, the tour will continue across the mountain pass between Eiði and Gjógv, where we will drive along the foot of the highest mountain on the islands, Slættaratindur, with its 882m. The last must-see photo stop for the day will be made at the lookout point for the sea stacks "the Giant and the Hag" (B, L, D)

Day 4  : The dramatic Northern Islands

In the far north are the islands of Borðoy and Kunoy, which are our destinations for the day. En route to the fishing capital of the country, Klaksvík, we visit the village museum in Nes, Toftir. Richer and more enlightened on the history of Nes, Toftir we continue the day north, through the sub-sea tunnel between Eysturoy and Borðoy. Make a point of noticing the lights at the bottom of the tunnel, which are an artwork by famous local artist Tróndur Patursson.

After a short sightseeing trip in the city of Klaksvík, we visit the island of Kunoy (B, L, D)

Day 5  : Western island of Vágar

Pack your socks and toothbrush as it is time to bid Hotel Gjáargarður farewell. Our trusted bus and guide will bring you from Eysturoy via Streymoy to the island of Vágar, where you will be finishing your tour at Hotel Vágar airport hotel (1 night)

After check in, it is time to explore Vágar, which apart from its Instagram hotspots, villages Bøur and Gásadalur, is home to local historic places such as museum Kálvalíð, the War Museum and the beautiful church of Sandavágur.

The trip ends with a boat trip on Leitisvatn, also known as ‘the lake above the ocean´. The boat trip will be made in the ecofriendly and most peculiar vessel ‘Lakeside’, the only one of its kind. At the end of the lake we visit waterfall Bøssdalafossur, and there will be time for some exploring on land, before sailing back ´home’. (B, L, D)

Day 6  : Meet a local and return home

Before flying home, it's time to meet a "local" - We have set up a meeting with a farmer from Bøur and he tells about life on the islands and in the village where he lives.

Then it's time to say goodbye and we hope that the trip will be a really good experience and we'll just say "see you again". (B, L)
