After breakfast, you will be taken from Bergen to the town of Voss driving via Dale board. In Voss, you will have an opportunity to ride on the beautiful Bergen Railway to the Myrdal, the mountain station. From Myrdal you will go on the fantastic Flåm Railway, a masterpiece of engineering, descending 2.838 feet. The fjord-side village of Flåm will welcome you in less than one hour. There you will have opportunities for photo shots of breathtaking waterfalls and mountain scenery. After a short rest in Flåm, a 2 hours cruise by boat on the narrow Aurlands and Nærøy Fjords which are the branches of the Sogn Fjord will be offered to you. The Sogn Fjord is the longest and deepest fjord in the world. The spectacular scenery of cascading waterfalls, sheer mountain cliffs, snow-clad peaks, and a variety of wildlife will welcome you. Then you will disembark in Gudvangen at the Nærøy Fjord and will go through the fantastic Stalheim Canyon and Nærøy Valley, across the Vika Mountains to Vangsnes by coach and by the short ferry crossing to the beautiful resort of Balestrand. You will have dinner and accommodation at Kvikne’s Hotel, in an exceptional location on the banks of the fjord, facing the mountains.
Today will be spent in Balestrand, giving you the opportunity to enjoy the magnificent beauty and nature of the fjords. Your day will start with a traditional Norwegian buffet breakfast. It would be a good idea to spend the morning on the hotel terrace, relaxing, breathing the mountain air and enjoying the breathtaking views. As a part of your itinerary we recommend to visit the local aquarium and art gallery, optionally you may rent a bike or rowing boat from the hotel. Also, you may go on foot up to the nearest mountains. We can also offer you a walking tour of the village of Balestrand, featuring historic buildings and other interesting sites. Dinner will be served at Kvikne’s Hotel which is your next stop.
After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel and drive you along the scenic route, under the Jostedal Glacier, which is the largest in Europe, to the Skei village. We will descend to the beautiful Nord Fjord, and then to the world-famous Briksdal Glacier. The journey to the glacier will be in open cars allowing you the best views. A typical Norwegian lunch will be enjoyed in sight of the glacier. In the afternoon the tour will go via Loen and Stryn, to the beautiful village of Hellesylt where you will board the ferry for the one hour’s cruise on the Geiranger Fjord, which is considered to be the most impressive of all the Norwegian fjords. During the cruise, you will see some magnificent waterfalls, such as the Bridal Veil and the Seven Sisters. Your dinner will be served at the excellent Union Hotel, facing the Geiranger Fjord.
Going along the famous Serpentine Road, you have the opportunity to marvel some fantastic views of the fjord, and then you will cross the rugged Grotli Mountains to Lom, well known for its 14th-century church. The tour further takes you via Lake Vågå, and will descend to the magnificent Gudbrands Valley arriving at a famous tourist town of Lillehammer. We will stop for lunch in Lillehammer. After lunch, we will continue the journey alongside Lake Mjøsa, Norway’s largest lake and will take you back to Oslo. You will have dinner and accommodation at Thon Hotel Opera, which is centrally located and is close to the Karl Johan shopping boulevard and also to the Royal Palace.
After the buffet breakfast at your hotel, you will be transferred to Oslo Gardermoen Airport in connection with your flight home.
