The road swings through 11 hairpin bends up from the Geirangerfjord and to the highest point on the stretch, 620 metres above sea level at Korsmyra. The road was an attraction from the very first day and was called Eagle Road because at its highest point it passed through terrain that had traditionally been the domain of a large number of eagles. The viewpoint has been recently upgraded and was officially opened on 21st June 2006 with a simple ceremony as part of the project "Nasjonal Turistveg" (National Tourist Roads).

We really enjoyed our trip to Scandinavia with your company. Nordic Saga Tours is very professional and we really felt like we were in good hands the entire time. The tours in each city went according to plan and other than the long delay in Oslo, all of the lunches were well thought out and timed well according to each activity every day. Our favorite stops were probably in Stockholm and Balestrand. The fjords in Scandinavia are way too beautiful! We took endless photos… They’re something everyone should get a chance to see in their lifetime! We don’t have any complaints about the hotels, other than maybe the staff at the Union Hotel… Nothing major, they just didn’t seem as friendly as the staff in other hotels. Overall, we had a great time, Alex. Thank you again. I’d have no problem recommending Nordic Saga Tours to anyone hoping to travel Scandinavia. :)

We just returned home yesterday following a one month trip. I wanted to thank you for a very well organized trip. You did a fantastic job and Cathi and I are beyond grateful. Did you also arrange the perfect weather we had?
We had mostly sunny skies, a little rain that was if no consequence and beautiful fall colors as well as spectacular panoramas. Again, thanks so much. Do you only work on trips to Norway? Let me know, we travel a lot.
Below are some photos for you
