Get to know coastal plains southeast of Reykjavik on a private tour that gives you a look at some of Iceland's most beautiful sights. From snowy glacial flows to some of the country's grandest rivers, this outing puts you amid the incredible natural phenomena that help to define the island.
After your guide picks you up from your hotel, you make your first stop at the waterfall of Urriðafoss, which deposits the glacier-fed waters of the river Þjórsá through an immense chain of low rocky drops. From there, you head to Seljalandsfoss, a tall, misty waterfall that plunges into a landscape of dazzling greens and blues.
Pay a visit to the Eyjafjallajökull visitor center, dedicated to one of Iceland's most active volcanoes, before moving on to the waterfall of Skógarfoss and an Icelandic folk museum, made up of quaint turf-roofed buildings set against the Eyjafjöll mountain range. Look out along the sea at the Mýrdalsjökull glacier from the promontory of Dyrhólaey, and then visit the stark black-sand beach of Reynisfjara before you begin the ride back to Reykjavik.
