Grand Tour of Iceland
Hi Dora:
I wanted to let you know I had a very good time on this tour. The connection on 9/28 worked, although I was a bit tired from the WOWAir flight. The guide, Bjorn Erik Westergren, was a fountain of information, sharing his passion and research for his adopted country. The scenery was so beautiful, I only wished we had had more time in each place.
As for the food, my needs were met in all ways at dinner thanks to Erik calling ahead each day to the place we were staying. Breakfasts varied in being adequate but I brought some protein powder and did fine. Only two lunches were problematic due to the lack of anything gluten free and substantial (with protein). I also brought snacks when we ended up eating later than usual.
So, many thanks for arranging my trip and working with me to rescue my vacation to iceland with a great alternative.

Grand Tour of Iceland

I am writing to thank you for arranging a wonderful trip for myself and my two 15 year-old grandchildren to Iceland from August 19 through the 26th, 2016.
We all really loved the experience of seeing the landscape and wildness of the country and meeting so many kind and caring people. Soaking in the Blue Lagoon on arrival after an overnight flight from the USA was absolutely perfect. And we discovered when we arrived later that day in Reykjavik that it was "Culture Day" with bands and entertainers and revilers filling the streets. What fun!
The highlights for the grandchildren were the trip to the Westman Islands (my granddaughter said, "I'd like to live here"), the many hikes and hill climbings they did, and of course, their 1.5 hr. glacier walk (in 60 mi/hr winds I might add). They loved it.
Our group was small - just 6 of us - and we all got along extremely well, despite the huge age differences. Our guide, Hermann Valsson, hermann.valsson@gmail.com, 354-854-5265 is a professional guide and was extremely knowledgeable about every facet of Icelandic life. The entire week was a history, geography, philosophy lesson that the children and I enjoyed immensely. We peppered him with questions which he never tired of answering. He was particularly sensitive to the children's needs and kept them engaged. I believe he is an independent contractor and works for the Jonasson group. I am copying him here so perhaps you two can communicate.
Hermann, thank you again for all your kindnesses. I have talked to a number of my friends about your outstanding talent for making our week very special. You have a true gift and I hope you continue to introduce your wonderful country to us outsiders!

I have been waiting to receive a questionnaire or a mail from you regarding the tour I took with you in June, but I never received anything so I write to you.
Thank you very much for a wonderful, punctual, extremely professional and well organized trip. We didn´t have to wait a single minute for a guide or transit, everywhere we went we had already been expected or someone was about to come and pull out a name sign. The times you indicated in your information were perfect to either avoid crowds or get there in time. The program was well chosen and helped get a perfect first impression. As promised the guides could either communicated in English or German.
If you want to be recommended on any homepage feel free to ask, I will happily give you 100 points in everything.
