Today, your driver will take you on a full-day Golden Circle tour. The Golden Circle is a driving route connecting three important sites: Thingvellir National Park, Haukadalur geothermal valley with many hot springs, and Gullfoss waterfall, one of Iceland's most beautiful attractions.

You will start at the Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its geological and historical importance. Here, in the plains of Althingi, the Viking Nobles got together in 930 AD to form the first Icelandic parliament, nowadays the longest functioning parliament in the world. Thingvellir National Park is also the site of the ever-widening gap between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, where you will see the fissure between the continents. Thingvellir will surprise you with a myriad of volcanic rock formations, cascading waterfalls nd blue lakes.

The next stop is the legendary Geysir geothermal area, where many geysers throw torrents of boiling water into the air. All geysers around the world got their name from the dormant "Great Geysir." The most active geyser in Iceland is Strokkur, which routinely propels water as high as 25 meters into the air. These incredible natural wonders are the symbols of Iceland that every visitor must see. Steaming fumaroles, bubbling hot pools, and volcanic vents all add to an astonishing one-of-a-kind natural site.

Our final stop is the Gullfoss, one of Iceland's most beautiful and dramatic waterfalls. The Hvítá river plunges 32 meters into a narrow canyon, creating a breathtaking sight that is even more stunning on a sunny day, when it forms a colorful background of rainbows. This is a sight that will leave you amazed and inspired by the natural beauty of Iceland.

As you continue your journey, you'll pass the scenic Eyjafjöll mountain range en route to the famous black sand beaches near the village of Vík. You will visit Reynisfjara, Iceland's most famous beach, with striking Reynisdrangar basalt columns rising dramatically from the ocean.

You will spend overnight in the countryside, ideally located away from the city lights, thus improving your chances of seeing the northern lights.

By then, you'll have seen the magnificent Breidamerkurjokull Glacier, which extends like a tongue from Vatnajokull, Europe's largest glacier. The Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, which is known for the sparkling icebergs that float on its icy blue surface, is in its shadow. Some icebergs wash up on the nearby Diamond Beach, shining like precious diamonds against the black sands. Both breathtaking locations will leave you with life-long memories.

The geothermal area of Krýsuvík and the geothermal field of Seltún are known for volcanic fumaroles, mud pots, and hot springs formed over millennia. Nearby, you’ll find Kleifarvatn, the third-largest lake in southern Iceland.
