KONTIKI AND FRAM MUSEUM / Duration: approximately 2 hours / includes: private bus transfers, entrance to Fram and Kontiki Museum and local guide. Take the opportunity to visit these 2 fantastic Museums. The Kon-Tiki Museum and the Fram Museum are two separate museums located in Oslo, Norway, both dedicated to maritime history and exploration. The Kon-Tiki Museum is dedicated to the famous Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl and his expeditions. The museum houses the Kon-Tiki raft, which Heyerdahl used for his 1947 expedition across the Pacific Ocean from South America to the Polynesian islands. Heyerdahl's journey on the Kon-Tiki demonstrated that prehistoric people could have traveled across vast oceanic distances and potentially influenced the cultures of different islands. In addition to the Kon-Tiki raft, the museum also displays other vessels and artifacts from Heyerdahl's expeditions, including the Ra II, used to sail across the Atlantic Ocean, and exhibits related to Easter Island and other Polynesian cultures. The museum provides a fascinating insight into the history of exploration and adventure. The Fram Museum is dedicated to the polar exploration vessel Fram, which was used by Norwegian explorers Fridtjof Nansen, Otto Sverdrup, and Roald Amundsen in their expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctic regions during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The Fram was specially designed to withstand the pressure of the ice and was used in some of the most significant polar expeditions in history. Both museums offer unique insights into the world of exploration and are must-visit attractions for history enthusiasts and anyone interested in maritime adventures.

I adored my trip to Scandinavia and Russia back in July. What a fun adventure! I'm not one to travel alone, but I needed some time away, so I'm thrilled this all worked out so well. Your help was much appreciated and I think you did a great job picking out the perfect tour for me to go on, with my time constraints and personal interests. Visiting Stockholm and Helsinki was a blast. I was able to mingle with a few other solo travelers in the group and felt so blessed to be there with everyone. Traveling alone really opens your eyes and is empowering in its own way. The sights were to die for, and just as I suspected, all of the hotels were beautiful and the food was out of this world. I thought the ferry ride was a nice touch, and all transfers were so easy! Seeing beautiful St. Petersburg was a dream. There's so much history there... I was sad to leave! Thank you a million times over for planning such a perfect trip for me. I'd recommend Nordic Saga Tours to anyone hoping to travel Scandinavia and Russia with the best of the best! :)
