Viking Horse Show and Riding and Golden Circle in the Afternoon

This 9-hour sightseeing program starts with a Viking Horse tour. The Icelandic horse is a breed that has remained virtually unchanged since the Vikings brought it to Iceland in the 9th century. Enjoy a riding tour in the idyllic landscape of Laxnes, located just located in outskirts of Reykjavik city. The riding tour is suitable for all ages and experience levels, from beginner to expert.

After the riding experience, there will be about an hour to relax and have a bite to eat before we join our Golden Circle Afternoon tour, which leaves Reykjavík at 13:00, and head to the National Park Þingvellir, with its remarkable geological features. The Icelandic Parliament -Alþingi - was founded on the site in 930 AD., making it the oldest still-functioning parliament in the world. We visit the impressive glacial waterfall Gullfoss and the geothermal area around Geysir andStrokkur with its spouting geysers. The tour takes us through fertile agricultural areas before heading back to Reykjavík over the mountain heath Hellisheiði.

11H Volcanoes, Waterfalls and Glacial Walk

This day begins with a drive to the highlands road that leads to the Kaldidalur valley and Iceland’s second largest glacier, Langjökull. Once we reach Langjökull glacier, you will have the chance to explore deep inside the ice caps in its reputable ice cave. Experience the exclusivity of being in a unique ice cave and witness the amazing blue ice formations.

After the Ice cave exploration, we will stop at Húsafell, where you will be able to buy some lunch. After that, we will drive towards Borgarfjörður to the magical waterfall Hraunfossar, a series of enchanting lava waterfalls, and through tragic cascades of Barnafoss.

Next, you’ll get a taste of Iceland’s literary heritage as we make a short visit to historic Reykholt, home of Iceland’s greatest saga writer, Snorri Sturluson. From Reykholt we begin the return journey to Reykjavík, making a stop at Deildartunguhver, Europe’s most powerful geothermal spring. After the geo-power the tour, we will continue to Hvalfjörður, Whale Fjord- with its small whale factory, and remains of World War II British installations. We will reach Reykjavik in the late afternoon.

Glacier Hike, Skaftafell & Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon

The South coast of Iceland is the setting for today’s adventures. We leave Reykjavík behind and travel through a fertile agricultural area and couple of small villages before we come to the first highlight of the day; Seljalandsfoss waterfall. Here you will have an opportunity to walk behind this spectacular cascade and really experience the force of the water at first hand. Close by we find Skógafoss waterfall where we also stop for a while to take in the scenery. After the waterfalls, we go down to Reynisfjara black sand beach. With its basalt columns and the impressive rock formations, Reynisdrangar, rising from the ocean just off the coast, it is truly a magical place to visit. We stop for lunch at the coastal village of Vík, before we start making our way further east. We will travel through unique landscape before we reach our lodging place.

We start the day at the picturesque Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. During the summer, you have the opportunity to take an amphibian boat ride between the icebergs but in other seasons, you can use your time here to take in the scenery and get the greatest photos of you live. From the glacier lagoon, we make our way to Vatnajökull glacier where we prepare for the glacier hike. Our skilled guides will go over all safety features and equipment before we set foot on the glacier. Vikisjökull is an outlet glacier of Vatnajökull Europe’s largest ice cap. On our journey, we will come across incredible ice formations, crevasses and the impressive icefall, where we will see up close how the ancient ice stoically falls hundreds of meters from the mountain top. The Vatnajökull national park area is one of Iceland’s most filmed movie locations such as Batman Begins, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty & The Game of Thrones.

After the glacier hike, we start making our way back to Reykjavik. We will travel the same route as the day before, but there will still be a lot of things to see and enjoy on the way. We will drop you off at your hotel in Reykjavik after these two days of delight.

Robert Pelzel 10 February 2025
Dear Susie, Barbara and I returned from our trip to Germany and Iceland last Friday and we had a wonderful trip, despite the fact that our first flights to Iceland and Frankfurt were cancelled only 24 hours before leaving Seattle because of volcanic activity. Icelandair managed to get us to Frankfurt on time by rebooking us on American Airlines. The tours you booked for us in Iceland were great. Thank you so much for your help in getting this trip put together. We could'nt have done it without you.
Very cordially,
Robert Pelzel

Hi Bobby, Everything was perfect! Tristan, our tour guide, was the best part of the trip! He was extremely knowledgeable, kind, passionate about his country, and we couldn't have asked for a better partner the week we were there.
All the best
Jessica
