Mountains that drop hundreds of meters into the ocean, stunning fjords, towering summits, and expansive glaciers are all found in Norway. Take the next step and see Stockholm, a thriving metropolis spread across 14 islands. The city's museums, palaces, and other public structures that date back hundreds of years beautifully illustrate the 700 years of history that the city has to offer.
Welcome to Norway, home to the world's most stunning fjords! Transfers to and from the airport are not included, but we can book them for you ahead of time for an extra cost.
You can begin exploring Norway today, depending on your arrival time.
Meet your tour leader at the hotel's reception at 17:00 for an informative meeting about your tour.
Overnight in Oslo.
In the morning, we depart for Norway's fjord region. As you drive through the countryside of Norway, you will see Lake Tyrifjord and its many branches. This lake is one of the largest in Norway and is a place for migrating birds to stop and rest. Next, we keep driving through the beautiful Hallingdal Valley toward Flam, a charming town.
In Flam, we will board the famed Flamsbana (Flam Railway) bound for Myrdal, a mountain railway station and junction about 13 kilometers away. The Flamsbana railway is among the world's steepest. This scenic train ride takes you past the Rallar Road, towering mountains, spectacular waterfalls, and 20 tunnels as you make your way through the beautiful countryside. The breathtaking views make it a lifelong memory.
If we have enough time, we will take an optional cruise from Flam to Gudvangen. We will sail through the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage-listed Sognefjord. At the end of the voyage in Gudvangen, the coach will be ready for you to continue your journey to Voss.
Overnight in Voss (breakfast)
After breakfast, we depart for Bergen, the gateway to Norway's fjords. As a UNESCO World Heritage City and a European City of Culture, the Bergen region offers the perfect mix of nature, culture, and busy city life all year round.
Upon arrival, meet your local guide for a 2-hour sightseeing trip. Pass by iconic sites like the Hanseatic Bryggen with the Mary Church, the Hakon castle, and the famous Fish Market.
Afternoon is free to explore on your own.
Overnight in Bergen (breakfast).
After breakfast, we board our bus and drive north. A ferry will take us from Oppdal to Lavik across the famed Sognefjord. Sognefjord is the longest and deepest fjord in Norway. It is 204 kilometers long and starts north of Bergen.
Continue on our way to the famed Briksdaal Glacier. Visitors worldwide flock to see this glacier arm, which is nestled between roaring waterfalls and lofty hills. Briksdalsbreen is a branch of the massive Jostedalsbreen Glacier within the Jostedalsbreen National Park. The glacier descends from 1,200 meters into the picturesque Briksdalen Valley. You can walk up to the Briksdalen Valley or take one of the "troll cars" up to the glacier for an extra cost.
Overnight in Loenfjord area (breakfast, dinner)
Leave for Geiranger, where you will take a sightseeing boat on the Geiranger fjord, one of Norway's narrowest and most beautiful fjords. The Geiranger fjord is dominated by a massive rock wall with beautiful waterfalls, such as "The Seven Sisters" and "The Veil of the Bride."
Following the cruise, continue driving north, passing through the famous Eagle Road, the highest part of the route from Geiranger to Eidsdal on road number 63. The road winds up from the Geirangerfjord to its highest point of 620 meters above sea level at Korsmyra. The route was named Eagle Road because it traveled through terrain favored by many eagles. The viewpoint was recently improved and was officially opened on June 21, 2006, with a short ceremony as part of the "Nasjonal Turistveg" project (National Tourist Roads).
The Troll's Road, an exhilarating series of 11 hairpin turns that descend the mountain, begins with a short ferry crossing from Eidsdal to Linge. It is a unique construction with breathtaking vistas.
Before landing in Molde, take another short ferry ride from Vestnes.
Overnight in Molde (breakfast)
Today we enjoy the gorgeous ride and breathtaking views along the Atlantic Road, magnificently built between water and land, traversing bridges and dikes at the ocean's edge. This actual civil engineering marvel was voted the "work of art of the century" by Norwegians and named one of the world's top road routes by the daily The Guardian.
Continue south till you reach Oppdal.
Overnight in Oppdal (breakfast)
Today we return to Oslo. A brief stop in Lillehammer, followed by some free time to explore the Olympic City. We will reach Hamar by late afternoon. Then, continue along the coast of Lake Mjosa, Norway's largest lake.
Upon arrival in Oslo in the afternoon, you will have a 3-hour sightseeing tour with a Norwegian guide. The city tour includes a stop at Frogner Park, home to all Vigeland's sculptures. The beautiful Royal Palace, City Hall, and Akershus Fortress will also be seen.
Overnight in Stockholm (breakfast)
In the morning, transfer to the train station and board a high-speed train to Stockholm. The journey takes about 5.5 hours. Upon arrival, hotel check-in and free time to explore on your own.
Overnight in Stockholm (breakfast)
Meet your local guide at your hotel's reception and depart for a 3-hour city tour of Stockholm.
Built on 14 islands, Stockholm is known as the "Beauty on Water" or "Venice of the North." The Baltic Sea and Lake Mälaren bound Stockholm on all sides. The city's vast elegant public buildings, palaces, and museums brilliantly portray its 700-year past. During your sightseeing tour, you will visit Gamla Stan (Old Town), whose cobblestone streets, crooked but beautifully preserved houses, and The Royal Palace will enchant you.
Overnight in Stockholm (breakfast)
Transfer to the airport under own arrangements, or book with us in advance for an additional fee (breakfast).
