Itinerary:

Greenland travel doesn't have to be a dream! Learn about the fascinating history of the Vikings and visit the very spot where the Norse colonization of North America began more than 1000 years ago. Enjoy the sights of blue and white icebergs, cruise in the deep fjords and or go for a walk on a trail leading all the way to the Inland Ice Cap!

Narsarsuaq is a gateway to South Greenland. Its name means ‘great plain’ in Greenlandic. Today it is the site of a small international airport and a small settlement working in tourism industry. The area offers a diverse range of experiences from iceberg cruises to easy walks and full-day hikes to the Inland Ice Cap.

The area around Narsarsuaq is also Viking country, with many ancient sites from the first Europeans on the American continent. Here you will find remains of Erik the Red's Brattahild farm, the site of the first Christian church built on the North American continent, the ruins of the Viking Cathedral and Bishop’s Farm in the nearby village of Igaliku.

No visit to Greenland is complete without seeing a glacier up close and in Narsarsuaq you can do just that in two different ways: by foot or if you prefer to relax, by boat. Cruise among the icebergs to the fjord of Qoroq and Qoroq glacier.

A full day hike to a melting glacier in the area behind Narsarsuaq is a great Arctic adventure. You will enjoy the local nature, do a bit of mountaineering and as a reward – see and touch the glacier directly connect to the Inland Ice Cap.
