Throughout the tour you'll stay in quality hotels and guesthouses where all rooms have private facilities. Your final night will be in a 4 star hotel in Reykjavik.
Our economy self-drive is $50 per person lower, staying in accommodation with private facilities without stretching your budget. Throughout your stay you'll be residing in a combination of standard hotels, farmhouses and guesthouses. Your final night will be in a 3 star hotel in Reykjavik.
Upgrade your comfort car rental holiday to the best possible accommodation with premium amenities, either for the full duration of your stay or only selected nights. The upgrade can either be to a superior room in a comfort hotel, or a standard room in an upscale hotel. The cost for a superior upgrade is $105 per room per night (on prices in comfort category). This upgrade is only available upon request. Let us know during the booking process just how superior you want your holiday to be, and we'll customize your trip!

Itinerary:
No matter how short your stopover is, you can still experience unforgettable natural wonders of Iceland. Amidst snow-capped black lava soak in the soothing waters of the Blue Lagoon. Then tour the sites of the famous Golden Circle — the UNESCO-listed Thingvellir National Park, two-tiered waterfall Gullfoss (Golden Falls) and the awe-inspiring eruptions of Strokkur in a field of geysers and hot springs, before exploring the volcanic landscape of Iceland‘s south shore. Of course, the northern lights may also make an appearance.

Collect your rental car at Keflavik Airport. Your day is free to spend at your leisure. We recommend a visit to the world-renowned Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa, located just 15 minutes from Keflavik International Airport. Overnight in Reykjavik.
Skogafoss waterfall – Seljalandsfoss waterfall - Seljavallalaug geothermal pool
Approximate distance: ca 190 km / 118 miles
The journey along the south shore follows fertile countryside, where the ominous Hekla volcano can be seen on a clear day and where majestic mountains meet wide plains. The landscape is adorned with spectacular waterfalls, including Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where you can enjoy a unique viewpoint by walking behind the curtain of thundering water.
In the evening, enjoy a relaxing soak in one of Iceland’s best-kept secrets, the Seljavallalaug Geothermal Pool, hidden in a narrow valley at the foot of a mountain. This 25-metre outdoor pool was built in 1923 and has one wall that is actually a mountainside where naturally heated water trickles in. This hidden gem is the perfect place to catch a glimpse of the elusive northern lights, with the surrounding mountains your only companions. Overnight in Vik area.
Thundering Waterfalls - Exploding Geysers - National Park with Geological Wonders (UNESCO)
Approximate distance: ca 364 km / 226 miles
Enjoy a day visiting the natural gems of the Icelandic countryside. Head for the geothermal fields of Geysir, with bubbling mud pools and the regularly erupting Strokkur geyser. Then visit the dramatic, two-tiered Gullfoss waterfall, a spectacular sight in winter when frozen mid-cascade. Finally, stop at UNESCO-listed Thingvellir National Park, where the world's oldest parliament met for centuries on the shores of Iceland's largest lake.
Overnight in Reykjavik.
