Review about The Great Swedish Cruise on M/S Diana (Stockholm - Gothenburg) by Emma Deangela

Rating: 5
Hello, I would like to thank Dora from Nordic Saga for recommending us to take a 6-day boat cruise on canal Gota from Stockholm to Gothenburg. This trip crowned our 3-weeks stay in Sweden. For 2 weeks we had a very speedy schedule, so this relaxing trip was just what we needed. It was not only relaxing but also very exciting . We crossed a few dozens of locks which was very exciting, enjoyed the scenery of beautiful lakes and Sweden's countryside. The food on the boat was worth 3 Michelin stars which fully compensated for a very small cabin. The boat crew were very helpful and always smiling and joking which made this trip even more pleasurable. Al in all, this cruise trip was something to be remembered and recommended for others. Welcome onboard ‘The Great Swedish Cruise’ – a six-day journey between Gothenburg and Stockholm, where you travel serenely along the fantastic and historic Göta Canal. The highlights of this tour are the impressive lock staircase in Trollhättan and the Canal Museum. Sweden’s smallest ferry, ”Lina”, in Töreboda and Forsvik with the oldest lock in the canal, built in 1813. You will also visit Vadstena, home to Saint Bridget and Motala, the capital of the Gota Canal. The convent church of Vreta and the remains of Sweden's first convent are an important part of the history here, and the Viking community of Birka is Sweden’s first town.
