Welcome aboard in Kirkenes! The Russian border is a few kilometres away, and all the road signs in town are in Russian and Norwegian. Today you can join many of our optional shore excursions.
Watch the changes in the polar landscape changes as we sail west and then south. The vast expanses are replaced by sharp peaks as we approach Tromsø in the evening. Tonight you can attend a midnight concert in the Arctic Cathedral, walk the city under the Northern Lights, or in the midnight sun, explore the nightlife of the city dubbed "The Paris of the North."
Today we reach the wild, pristine Lofoten Islands. The jagged mountains hang above the white sandy beaches. This is home to small fishing villages supporting the vibrant fishing industry of Norway. Local residents use the coastal ships for everyday life and transport. Weather permitting, we will enter the narrow Trollfjord. We might get lucky and spot sea eagles here.
Today we will cross the Arctic Circle and sail away from the polar nights and the sunlit midsummer nights. However, it never gets completely dark during the summer nights, and you can still see the Northern Lights in the winter.
Here you sail past many small islets, islands, and the famous Trollhatten mountain, which has a hole in the middle. If you wish, you can also go on the trip to the mountain and enter the hole.
We continue sailing through the Trondheim fjord, surrounded by vast farmland on both sides, and return to the open sea and coastline. In Kristiansund, you can disembark and be driven along the Atlantic Ocean Road, which has been called the world's most beautiful drive. The road meanders along islets and skerries, and afterward, you can re-embark in Molde.
On the last day of the Norwegian coastal voyage, we sail through a diverse landscape of rocky mountains and a maze of waterways between the myriad islands bounded by incredible fjords and glaciers. At the end of the voyage, Bergen awaits you.
We hope you will leave with fond memories of your journey and look forward to seeing you again.
